I've pulled this out of the archives, as I REFUSE to let another month go by without an entry. So here it is.

PS Villida, you have no idea how many Christmas bush trees I've killed I swear the flowers close up when I walk past a bush anywhere.

Ours just loves where it is and is going gang busters. We had 3 but the other two said no. They either thrive or die. Temperamental buggers.

"And the flame trees can blind a weary driver." Don Walker from Cold Chisel wrote that song about returning home to Grafton. Many joke that he used flame trees because Jacaranda wouldn't rhyme. Anyway, the flame trees are coming into bloom now. When they are out this tree will be spectacular.

Just spotted a flame tree this morning. It's amazing they hide all year and then BOOM, they're there.

Great red flowers everyone - enough to choose three
Bronze to Col for the first one Silver to David for the rose (nice focus) Gold - Vally for the dew drop (love the sun on the very edge - lovely work - only just beat the last two by a wisker)

Thank you for the gold. David and Colin, congratulations on your beautiful photos.
