Well, winter is upon us in the southern hemisphere, and the camellias and azaleas are in bloom so I am going to let them be the inspiration for this months topic. The topic is SINGLE WHITE BLOOM. Any type of flower. You can have colour background or colour tones so long as most of the flower is white. Then again you might think outside the square too. I will accept flowers of any colour so long as the dominant colour in the frame is WHITE. That should give you some room for creativity

Did we? That is so old forum! Sorry about that. I will change it. Slightly, because it is hard to think of a flower topic in winter. Maybe plastic? No, joking. I will edit the original post to single white bloom.

Single white bloom - oldies, I will go for new ones later. First one is "taking licence" - it was palest pink and I infrared-ed it!! Second one - well it is one head rather than one bloom I guess Last one is the only "double headed" arum lily I have ever seen - and I grew it!

It is all good. It has t be a white flower or the majority of the photo must be white with a single blow. I like to see people think outside the square and surprise me.

Hey, I like the way that's come up as one photo. It isn't but if it scores me any points, I'll take it. If it's losing me points because it's two blooms, well they're not, they just look it.

Hi Vally - love your 'two' photos!.
Re my second photo - I have absolutely no idea sorry - it was taken at Kings Park, Perth during wildflower week so a native of WA I would assume - papery sort of feel.

Loving the flowers, people. Vally, you scored some points. Nobody said anything about two images of the same flower. Besides, it is such a good composition. Whoops! It is two photos. Sorry! Beautiful images.
I have a book on Western Australian blooms I picked up on my last trip filed away on my desk. Now, which pile of paper and books is it buried under!

A tough job and it came down to a battle between Vally and Mems. I liked the sepia image Mems created and I would love to know how you achieved that soft translucence around the bloom. The two that look like one photo from Vally were also a standout. Both very artistic BUT the winner is Vally. The colour, the lighting and the composition were all spot on in my opinion.
Over to you Vally
