I have been concentrating on improving my editing skills lately rather than taking new photos. 1. I am not exactly the most mobile lately. 2. I am a little bored of taking a photo of a nice scene and seeing the image come out flat and out of balance. I do not want to turn my landscape photos into artistic interpretations of the landscape. In other words I do not want to create an image using editing tools. Rather I want to edit the photo so that it will show what I saw but just didn't make it onto the photo. Let's be honest. The eye and the brain do what the camera can't by the eye making multiple adjustments to light and focus and the brain combining those images to create an image. This site helped to show me how to make those adjustments on Photoshop to help create a more vibrant, balanced photograph. It is very interesting. Detailed but not overly detailed, going step by step and showing 8 easy-ish techniques to improve your photos. If you are interested - iso.500px.com/post-processing-tips-for-landscape-photos/

Thanks for the link, it looks good. I totally agree. My landscape photos are always very very disappointing. Exactly as you say, what you see is not what the camera catches. Or really the other way around, the camera catches what's there, but the eyes and the mind do amazing stuff.

I took some photos in South Australia that came out so disappointing. Cloudy skies. I was stuck with under exposed features or overexposed clouds. I like the way it is eight seperate tutorials so you can master 1 or have a crack at all 8. I ended up dragging the reject files out of the portfolio, tried a couple of suggestions and they worked. I ended up reposting 3 in this month's Landscape Land. It was a "so, that's how they did it" light bulb moment.

Sydney is a long way from here. After mispronouncing Albany and Walpole when I was in the west (plus just about every other place) I would love to hear how you go with the east coast towns. lol. I would love to catch up but still indisposed at the moment. My 3 toed sloth days are behind me but the leg is still not 100%. Enjoy the opera house. What are you seeing?

No. I think I read something about signing up to his blog to access the easy panel. I decided I didn't want to sign up so I never tried. Sorry.

My Fair Lady - Headlining the new company is the three time Olivier Award winner, acclaimed British performer Alex Jennings, as Professor Higgins and the young Australian star, Anna O’Byrne, as Eliza Doolittle. Joining them is an outstanding cast. Reg Livermore will play the role of Alfred P. Doolittle. Robyn Nevin will play Mrs. Higgins and Mark Vincent will play Freddy Eynsford-Hill. The role of Colonel Hugh Pickering will be played by Tony Llewellyn-Jones and Deidre Rubenstein will play Mrs. Pearce.
- thought we'd go to the zoo too and on a hop on hop off ferry oh and the rocks!!!! you 'wound' is taking forever - poor you! Could I say "be more careful" even though that horse has bolted!!!!!

Sounds great. I wish I could recommend a few other places but my Sydney days are behind me. Maybe the river cat up to Parramatta with Sydney Ferries. People tell me that is quite nice now.
I also popped in to the Digital Camera Warehouse last time I was down (and out again quickly). I could feel my wallet starting to burn and that isn't good when you are travelling. Drive south to Bulli via Coaldale is a pretty drive if you have a day up your sleeve. Beautiful "stop the car, stop the car" scenery!
Enjoy Sydney. I will be back in WA in March and or April so I will be in touch.
Always careful. Just a touch awkward and uncoordinated!
