Prompted by the fine examples set by Villida and Peter45, I thought it time to introduce myself. My name is George, my username "Tiabunna" is taken from the name of a rural property we owned some years ago. It was back in those days when I first joined this site in its earliest incarnation; I guess the very fact that I'm still here shows that I've enjoyed being a member.
My photographic adventures began way back in film days, when I was entrusted with the family Box Brownie and eventually began taking over the bathroom so I could develop negatives and do contact printing. In due course I went into my first SLR, a Minolta SR1 and I continued with Minolta for many years. My photographic world changed totally when I moved into digital with a Lumix FZ20 in 2004. Suddenly so many things became possible, not least trying new ideas without thinking about film supply and costs. Pentax had always appealed, so when I decided to step up to a DSLR I bought a K10D which I still use, though now my main camera is a K50 (with a "pocket" Lumix as reserve).
Although my main ambition is to make fine images and photography takes much of my leisure time, I am happily retired and have no urge to change that status by "going professional". I enjoy all photographic subjects, though most often find myself taking landscape, wildlife and macro images. I post many of my images at www.ipernity.com/home/tiabunna.
I look forward to reading introductions from other members.
