Ok, these are not really competition quality. Not even close!. I went down to Woolgoolga on the coast near me and by chance I stuck the 400 lens in the car in the hope of getting some wildlife. I drove up to the headland and about 500m there was a pod of whales feeding and playing. No time for a tripod, leant on the car and took some pot shots. You do not normally see whales in this close at Whoopi.A buzz to see them so close and I didn't have to pay a fortune for the boat ride!

I gave the long lens a workout this month and it has been fun. I think I am getting my enthusiasm back. Typical of me. Work something to death, then go off it for months on end and then get all enthused again!

Ok, 3rd to mems for the BW bird, 2nd to villida for blue wren(?) and first to DGap for the fly, and green/blue grasshopper. Really excellent macro catches.
