No Honey bees around at this time of year but the natives are hard at it. I hope to get a better one but this one will give you an idea of their size. The little blue one on the right hand end ( and a few more in the flower). They are stingless and produce magnificent honey but not as much as honey bees. A lot of people have "sugar bag" hives in their yard up here so I will need to visit a friend. Or get my own hive. (Maybe both at the same time!)

I managed to get up close enough to use my macro lens photographing a hive of native bees. I got them all over me. The good news is they do not sting. The bad news is they do not stay still for long. They are one of my favourite insects.
