I have done this all before, but I guess it doesn't hurt to do it all again, especially for anyone new to this forum and wondering if they should contribute. Firstly, if you ARE new, welcome to the forum. Secondly, yes you should contribute!
I have been a member of this forum for a few years now, Like everyone else, well maybe not EVERYBODY else, I am a strictly amateur photographer. I was a wanna be professional ( and I guess I still am) but things change when you start trying to turn your fun into a business, so I am resolved to trying to better myself in the art of photography, enjoy the process of taking photos and see where the journey takes me. That is the beauty of this forum. You get the chance to compete against others in friendly monthly, and weekly, competitions. There is no critique of your work, unless you want it, and it has helped me to become a better photographer.
I use a Nikon 7100 and a 7000 DSLR for most of my work these days. My 3 favourite lenses are the 60mm Nikkor macro, my Sigma 400mm for bird photography and the 12 - 24 mm. I have a website where I like to show off my work. It is a shopping website but , let's just say I am glad I have another source of income. The site is www.villidaphotography.com. Why keep a website that doesn't sell photos? Why join a golf club when you will never win the British Open? It is a hobby and it helps to get my work some exposure. Who knows? I may end up selling millions. Well, that's all from me.
